Visions: New Works by Tessah Noreen
Tessah Noreen’s portraits of a single girl (sometimes mirrored) come from drawing out her anxiety and her dreams. Alluring and fairy-like, these vessels explore Tessah’s introspections; what she loves, fears or obsesses over: nature, life, death, her hair, her purpose, her connection to the universe. Visions continues this exploration through a series of portraits on wood discs. Tessah blends her stylistic inspirations through drawing and use of mixed media to bring the phantom-like muse out of her mind and the wood. Each girl is caught in a moment or thought and asks us: what does the subject see? What do we see in ourselves? What does Tessah see in her dreams?
